Team Mining

Private or public teams mining together as one solo unit — and splitting every block they find.

Team Mining

A mining team mines against the network as a single solo unit. When the team finds a block, the coinbase distributes proportionally to each member's work, minus the pool fee. The team picks how work is counted: a PROP round with a length the team sets, which can optionally reset when a block is found, or a sliding time window that always counts the last N days.

Email-anchored membership. To prevent admins from routing a victim's payouts into their team, every join requires an email-verified BTC address. No silent adds — the joining miner always confirms via a link in their inbox.
The old way vs Team Mining Traditionally a small group mining together had to trust an admin — or a small group of admins with a shared multisig wallet — to manually distribute the block reward to each member after a block was found. Blitzpool's Team Mining still has a team admin, but only for organization: inviting members and managing the team. Payouts are handled entirely by the protocol — every block found pays each member directly via the multi-output coinbase, proportional to their contributed work. No manual distribution, no shared custody.
Two ways to join a team

Open invite link — the admin generates one time-limited URL (1h–30d) and shares it in Telegram, Discord or similar. Anyone with a verified email for their address can use it to join.

Join request — public teams list themselves in the directory; you submit your address (with an optional message) and the admin approves or rejects.

When it fits

  • Team reward sharing without trusting a centralised pool's ledger
  • Public directory or invite-only — the admin picks the visibility and the right growth path
  • Admin-token-gated team management, rotation-safe on creator transfer

What to know

  • Team needs ≥ 2 active members before the team is 'active'
  • Variance scales with the team's combined hashrate — still solo-like for small teams
  • Member removal by admin gated on 14-day inactivity

How to start

Create a team from your dashboard (private by default, switch to public any time). Grow it via an open invite link you share in your community channels, or — if public — by approving join requests from the public directory. New members must first bind + verify an email; routing is address-driven, so any port works.

Connection

Defaultstratum+tcp://blitzpool.yourdevice.ch:3333
High-difficulty (start diff 1M, for mining rentals)stratum+tcp://blitzpool.yourdevice.ch:3339
TLS — encrypted Stratum V1stratum+ssl://blitzpool.yourdevice.ch:6666

Same stratum port as Solo. Routing is address-driven: connect your miner and the pool looks up your team by BTC address automatically.

Stratum V2 is auto-negotiated on the same port — no separate endpoint.

Job Declaration: build your own block templates by running the Job Declarator Client (jd-client) and connecting it on port 3335. Learn more on the Stratum V2 page

Still not sure? PPLNS is the default sweet spot. Solo is for patient lottery players. Team Mining is for friends that want to take on the network together.
